The coolest horror bookstore on the Web. Not only can you find signed, limited editions of some utlra rare novels, but it's also one of the best places to find out about what's going on in the industry. Sign up for their newsletter to receive weekly updates on new releases, contests, and auctions. If you're so inclined, swing on over to their message board and converse with some of today's top horror authors like Douglas Clegg and Tim Lebbon.

A few years ago, Brian Keene decided he was going to breathe life back into the zombie genre, and wrote The Rising and City Of The Dead, two novels which have become instant classics. George Romero's slow-moving, moaning undead are still cool, don't get me wrong, but Keene's gun-shooting, car-driving, wise-craking zombies are a much tougher adversary. It was my fanboy email to Keene that led to him taking a look at my manuscript for The Summer I Died. He liked it, and pointed out some places I should send it. A year later, the book is out, and Keene's endorsement sits on the cover. They don't come much cooler than this guy.

If you're an aspiring author, or just a hardcore fan of horror fiction, this is the place to be. It's sort of like the horror nexus, if you will. It has links to a myriad of horror author sites, and is a good place for industry news. Check out their online chat sessions with today's best authors.

These are the guys that decided to publish my book. I think they're a little funny in the head, if you ask me. Everytime I call I hear people screaming in the back ground and gun shots and sirens and once I swear I heard someone yell, "We shall bathe the Earth in demon's blood!" But aside from that, they offer a wide range of speculative fiction works, and even comic books. Their catalogue can be ordered through any online store. They're based in Canada.

Permuted is all about zombies and the apocalypse. Their books are top notch quality and very entertaining. They will be printing my novella With A Face of Golden Pleasure this spring.

These guys were the first to review my book. They've got great fiction by some talented writers, and some great reviews of all things horror--DVDs, books, etc. Check them out.

One hell of a horror fan site. Everything from movies to books to comics.

Deena is a hell of an artist, and does plenty of book covers for big name authors. She also did that really awesome banner ad for me, the one with the rolling dice. If you stop by her site, check out the art work she has for sale. It's good stuff.

HorrorWatch is another great place for all things horror. Books, movies, video games, you name it.

Derek Gunn's awesome vampire novel just got optioned for film. Check it out!

One of the cooler horror fiction mags out there. Reviews, fiction, interviews...you name it.

My favorite Authors:

Joe R. Lansdale

Lansdale has that something that makes you laugh while you squirm in disgust. Some reviewers call it the Mojo, but I call it wit. He grew up next to a Drive in, and spent his nights watching B-movies in the 60s. He's done everything from mystery, to horror, to thriller. The Hap and Leonard novels are some of the funniest things you'll ever read. The Drive In series is by far the closest thing to a Creature Feature you'll find in book form, and The Bottoms (for which he won the Edgar award) is one of the most beautiful books about coming of age you'll ever read.

Dan Simmons

One of the best horror novels of all time is Summer Of Night. The characters spin off into many of his other books, like Children of the Night, Winter Haunting, Carrion Comfort, etc. Simmons is also a major Sci Fi author, having won the Hugo award a few years ago for his Hyperion series--which is beyond impressive.

Terry Pratchett

If you like Monty Python, read everything Terry Pratchett has ever written. Hysterical fantasy fiction.

Michael Marshall Smith

I don't much read thrillers, but the Straw Men series is one of the coolest stories I've ever read. Dark and intelligent. I can't believe this hasn't been made into a movie.

Mike Nelson

Mike Nelson was the host of Mystery Science Theater 3000 on Comedy Central (late on the Sci Fi channel). His books are hysterical. Death Rat is his first fiction work, and while not as funny as his essays, is still one of the better books on the market.

Cody Goodfelllow

Cody wrote a couple of scifi/horror/thriller books that just defy everything else in bookdom. And what's more, this boy can really write--so much better than most stuff on the mass market. If you like the X Files and Lovecraft you HAVE to read his Radiant Dawn series.

Misc:

The Buzzbombs

This is my band, a punkified version of a 50s rockabilly act. I jump around like and idiot and get drunk..and for some reason people like it.

Ranch & Coast

When I'm not chopping people up on the page, I'm writing about jumping out of planes and driving ferarris. This is where I spend my days 9-5, editing and writing about various Luxury Lifestyle endeavors.
